I live in Michigan and I am running a silver/AgNO3 cell in my garage. It will get much colder. My volts go up when the temperature goes down. I was thinking of buying a plate warmer and set it on low to keep the cell from freezing and/or getting too cold. What are the downsides to this idea?

If there is not too much free nitric in the electrolyte that can escape by heating, I see no down sides to it. There should only be very little free nitric and that stays pretty much in solution at 'room temperatures'
