So i recently Tried collection gold from old cpus. I tried removing the gold with HCl and H2O2 took a long time and didn't remove all the gold.
I filtered and separated the gold i cold see and then messed up.
I didn't wash the wet mixture.
I added nitric acid to dissolve other metals But apparently i didn't remove all HCl and made a dirty solution of Aqua Regia it has alot of other metals: Cu Ni Pb Sn Al and or possibly Others.
Can i save the gold?
Ive tried a few things but nothing seems to be working.
took some and added smb truned black little to no precipitation.
I forgot to denox.
Tried fixing with copperas no precipitation.
Then tried adding copper to cement gold with separate test.
White precipitation no gold.
Filtered and now sitting along with other test because im lost.
Im new and know i made mistakes and any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to us.
At least you realize you have messed up.
We will help you out of this, but it will take time since we want you to study so you know what went wrong.
So set/pack your stuff away in a safe spot and start studying these links:

We ask our new members to do 3 things.
1. Read C.M. Hokes book on refining jewelers scrap, it gives an easy introduction to the most important chemistry regarding refining.
It is free here on the forum: https://goldrefiningforum.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=19798
2. Then read the safety section of the forum: https://goldrefiningforum.com/forums/safety.47/
3. And then read about "Dealing with waste" in the forum: https://goldrefiningforum.com/threads/dealing-with-waste.10539/

Then some questions.
How many processors and what kind of processors?
What did you intend to accomplish, when using HCl/H2O2?
Why do you think you have this specific combination in the solution (Cu Ni Pb Sn Al and or possibly Others)?
As long as you do not throw anything away the Gold can be saved.
How much Gold did you expect?

Around 10 pounds of mixed CPU's

I intended to remove gold plating from CPU's.

I believe i have those and possible others because the gold plating had some other metals attached or mixed with from solder and piece pcb and other parts (ie aluminum heatsinks)of the CPU. When i filtered i through everything in without Washing so i don't know what exactly is in it.

From the 2 solutions i split to do tests i expect to recover (i am no pro) somewhere between 4 g (if i mess up) 14 grams gold if i got all of it and calculations correct.
Possibly only as much as 10 grams however.
Thanks for the help.

If you are going to strip the plating off PCB of different kinds,
a Copper Chloride etch is good but we no longer use Peroxide since it may put Gold in solution.
It will then Cement back on base metals and that can happen inside the PCBs
Now we just use HCl and air bubbling.
No risk of dissolving Gold.
And you never put whole items in acid, you remove as much magnetic material and heat sinks and such.
The heat spreaders on the CPUs are also removed.
Then the items are sorted and only similar objects are processed together
because a process that fit one item may not fit another.

Some CPU's even have Gold bonding wires in them.

Now go and study the links you got.

Edit to correct word.
