The headline reads well but the Devil is in the detail Paul. When you read the process as a whole, all this is is a collector method. The boards etc are all still being dissolved in acids.

Most of these methods end up the same- great noise but no substance.

This is the third time this pops up in just a few days.
There seem to be one good feature though, it is may be better than AC at pulling Gold out of solution in acidic conditions.
Maybe, because they have not tested it together. (Why?)

And another thing their math don't add up, literally.
They end up in more than 100% output.

It ends up as another academic exercise to get published papers and secure funding.
 
This is not new. It has been known for some time that modified whey proteins can remove metals from a variety of acidic solutions. The notion was shelved due to being very expensive with comparable hazardous waste.

Time for more coffee.
